The Herbert D. Doan Center for Science and Health Technologies allows Mid Michigan Community College to offer high demand science, health and technology programs which is of great value to students, area employers and the community the College serves.
New proposed programs include Physical Therapy Assistant, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Lab Technology, Surgical Technology, Pharmacy Technician, Health Information Technician, and Nuclear Medicine Technician, The Center will also enable the College to expand its nursing program.
The Doan Center, which opened for the Spring 2008 semester, ushers in a new era of service by Mid Michigan Community College, which first began offering classes in Mt. Pleasant in 1968. The Doan Center provides nearly 60,000 square feet of much needed hands-on skills labs, computer labs, classrooms, and specialized instructional areas. It is a LEED certifiable building with a high efficiency lighting design, energy recovery systems to capture energy typically lost when air is exhausted, daylight harvesting control system, occupancy sensors and energy reduction through added insulation in walls and roof.
