In the late summer of 2006, Dow Howell Gilmore Associates (DHGA) was asked by the owner of the Holiday Inn West in Kalamazoo Michigan to provide professional design services for renovations to the existing facility. These renovations were being driven by the requirements of the Holiday Inn parent company, Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), to bring the facility into current brand standards.

DHGA provided architectural and interior design for the renovation of all guest rooms, corridors, lobby, banquet rooms, Holidome (pool), and fitness center. The work also included the implementation of the owner’s own restaurant brand “Old Burdick’s” into the existing dining facility. This project involved constant contact with IHG staff to ensure brand compliance in a tight project schedule.
